I’m not sure if this is the right group to ask this question but here it goes.

I’m currently in a corporate company (bank) as a developer and I worked here for about 2 years now. I’m working with C# backend jquery front end but I’ve been told that newer projects with newer technology stacks are soon to come. I have a decent salary and a good team.

However, I’m thinking most companies while hiring don’t appreciate the experience from a corporate company that much since they are usually stagnant when t comes to tech.

I have currently an offer to a financial startup (a 4 year old company that has great partnerships with big banks - so I’d say very risk free in the sense that it’s not going to go bankrupt) and the way I see it it opens my path to either continue in the finance industry or go startup way. Salary is slightly higher but doesn’t affect my choice to either stay or move on in my current company. It’s a dev position as well.

I’d love to hear what you guys think.

  • "I’m thinking most companies while hiring don’t appreciate the experience from a corporate company" - apparently this startup appreciates your experience. I'm sure plenty of other companies would as well.
