I have recently joined an organization. Like every other organization, here also we have 9 working hours a day. But ever since I have joined, my manager wants me to stay late and work extra hours in office. I don't see any reason to do so as my project has not yet started.
It takes me more than 1 and half hour to reach home/office. some times 2 hours if the traffic is worst. I do not even take regular coffee breaks. Just one hour lunch break. For the rest of the 8 hours, I spend on the desk doing my work. No Facebook, no tweeter, nothin.
Still he wants me to spend extra hours in office. On top of that, he also suggested me to rent a home near by office. Why would I do that? I am a native in the city. I have my own home, a family.
I asked him so many times that why did he want me to spend extra hours. He always says he has seen some spark in me.
He is a from sales background whereas I am a developer. By listening to his ideas about new projects and applications, it clearly shows that he has no idea about how software development works.
I don't know how to handle him now. I feel like I am stuck here in this company.
