How can i politely decline bowing to anyone due to religous reasons, especially if it is for example very common where you moved to for work (in japan) and is considered a common greeting among the people, without being disrespectful.



Note: muslims are only allowed to bow and prostrate to god because we consider such things acts of worship, and islam is a very monotheistic religion.
