Our local interviewer is constantly interjecting with ahem, aha, emm, em, mm-hm, uh-huh, yeah.

How can I write the person or station and ask for some linguistic training? I have seen somewhere that this is inappropriate for an interview to be done this way.

  • "Our local interviewer is constantly interjecting with ... What is this called?" Uhm... I believe you could call it an ... er ... interjection, as you already implied. Maybe visit English Language Usage StackExchange for questions about language usage.

My apologies, I wrote the question about "interviewer is constantly interjecting with ahem, aha, emm, em, mm-hm, uh-huh, yeah.
What is this called"

It was only when I posted it it did not I realize this was a "WorkPlace site!

If anyone can help with just naming this problem I would be happy as I cannot seem to find the proper name for my question to be able to do a god search. I keep getting the interviewee is interjecting with aha, Mmm, um etc.

Thanks - Alan

  • Two tips for using English: Don't confuse "god" and "good". And don't confuse "interviewer" and "interviewee". These two words are exactly opposite.
