This question already has an answer here:

  • What do you do if someone says they'll email you tomorrow, and they don't?

    2 answers

I recently had a job interview for which I was told the date I would recieve a reply but still I did not receive it. That date was last week yet no reply.

Should I email to the person who interviewed me to update me on the outcome?
Or should I keep silent and admit their silence means I am rejected as they can not forget to answer to an applicant they are interested in?

  • There are plenty of similar questions on the workplace, it is likely you may find your answer if you go and have a quick search :)

If you’ve been given a certain date and a week has passed, there’s no harm in contacting them to enquire about it. You won’t appear as desperate if you just email them as long as you’re not going to harass them, you’ll just look keen/interested.

If they’d not given you a specific date, I would have waited.
