I was called for a second interview with the original panel, plus the director of the organization that I would be working for. I have two years experience doing a very similar job, although on a smaller scale. I have to admit, this is my dream job!! I sent follow up emails that evening, very brief, thanking the panel for their time.

Several days later, I noticed that the job was no longer listed, so I called the lady that I would be working for. (She had asked me to call her by her given name previously and sounded genuinely pleased that I had called.) I asked about their timeline for hiring, she stated that they would be calling references over the next few days. She also told me that the panel had been impressed with me. And that they would let all the applicants know later in the week.

I don’t believe that they have called any of my references. But I also haven’t received a denial letter. I’m absolutely sick with nerves. I’ve never wanted a job so much in my life.

What do you think? Does it sound good for me?
