Many companies include "lack of ego" or similar trait as a soft requirement for a position. It is understandable, as it helps the process when the deliverables are closest to the industry default, and farthest from a particular person's signature.
I would love to convince the recruiter that I indeed could meet this requirement. However, I'm afraid if I state plainly “I care about the team more than I care about myself,†that would come off too egocentric and groundless. If I refer to my former colleagues as to people who enjoyed working with me, I still believe that would get me into Catch-22 of recommending myself as a person who should not recommend themselves.
Is there a general advice on how to put my candidacy in a good light with respect to being altruistic?
