Along the lines of Is there a depiction of Superman where he is an African American?

Was there ANY depiction of Superman as an Asian in the comics or even elsewhere?

  • I think you mean a character with Kryptonian 'Superman-like' powers - otherwise, the accepted answer is technically incorrect (see my comment on the accepted answer)

The recent New Super-Man comics feature Kong Kenan as the "Superman of China".

Kong Kenan

You might want to know that there are several other heroes in this arc as well, like Chinese Batman and Wonder Woman. They are the Justice League of China.

  • technically speaking, Kenan is not "Superman" as Superman Kal-El still exists in the same universe. Kenan was given Kryptonian powers, but he is not "Superman" - dc.wikia.com/wiki/Kong_Kenan_(Prime_Earth) - The Justice League of China exists alongside the US version of the Justice League. (and JLC is awesome - I love that it was created, so please don't mistake my response for any kind of fist shaking that "Superman" would be depicted as anything other than a white "American" male. I'm just saying the Superman character exists alongside Kong Kenan)

  • @NKCampbell yeah, that's what I'm editing in right now, actually - alognside with Kong Kenan working with the "usual" Clark Kent.
